Wed, Sept. 28, 2016, 4-6pm          Sauerkraut & Fermenting Vegetables    kelle sunter Saturday, Oct. 1, 10-12noon

In the good old days, we didn't have canning - so how did we preserve the summer bounty gathered from the wild or grown in our gardens? Fermentation!

Both classes will cover the same material. Come and learn how to make your own nutritious (and delicious!) sauerkraut! We will also talk about why homemade sauerkraut is SO GOOD for you!! Additional information (and sampling) for making fermented pickles and other vegetables. Special Guest on Saturday will also be talking about making homemade kimchee.

Wed, Nov. 2, 4-6pm                                                     Kombucha   with kelle sunter

Saturday, Nov. 5, 10-12noon

While the origins of Kombucha remain shrouded in mystery there is much evidence to support that it has been around for thousands of years! Whether you want to feel better by drinking it (many do!),, just like the taste, or have never tried it, we invite you to get in touch with your inner "Ghengis" by learning more about this interesting elixir at this fun, informative presentation. We will be sampling different flavors, demonstrating how to make your own AND sending you home with your own culture to start brewing.
